Although sugar and spice is nice, brains, brawn and beauty are the forces behind stuntwoman and actress Angela Meryl.
Bedazzled by the sights and sounds of lights, cameras and action, the Willingboro, New Jersey native went from model/make-up artist to stunt woman by sheer fluke. "I have always wanted to act. And to get a SAG card (Screen Actors Guild) a friend set me up with a stunt in the movie First Kid, starring Sinbad." Tenacity overcame fear that day. Eight years later Angela is not only in the game, she's on top of it.
Doubling for talented and gorgeous performers Beyonce, Vanessa Williams, Vivica Fox, Gabrielle Union and Sanaa Latham requires Angela, a raging beauty in her own right, to practice proper nutrition, daily exercise and rest on a consistent basis. Martial arts and a sense of spirituality act like glue to keep her in check mentally, when crashing through glass tables-back first, into cliff-side guard railings at 60 miles per hour, even into the deep, murky waters of the Hudson River.
An abbreviated list of performances to date includes: Kill Bill (2003 stunt double for Vivica Fox), Johnson Family Vacation (2003, stunt double for Vanessa Williams), Haunted Mansion (2003, stunt double for Marsha Thomason), Out of Time (2003 stunt double for Sanaa Latham), If You Were My Girl, (2003 stunt double for Christina Milian), Jeepers Creepers II (2003 stunt double for Lena Caldwell), Cradle 2 Grave (2003 stunt double for Gabrielle Union) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002 stunt double for Beyonce Knowles).
In bright lights you'll soon see the name Angela Meryl alongside Berry, Denzel, Dinero, Fishbourne, Pacino and Tyson-as in Cicely, performing in various award winning action and romance flicks.
It's now 2014 and real estate mogul Angela Meryl is married with 2.5 kids. She spends what little spare time she has mentoring youth on a path that parallels the choices she made. As a celebrated film producer she also stars in the productions her choice. And there's more…
